Common situations
This usually comes up after a new water heater is installed and the old tank gets left behind in the garage or utility closet.
Before pickup
The water heater must be fully drained and disconnected from the water lines, gas line, or electrical before we arrive. We don't disconnect plumbing or gas ourselves — this should be done by you or a plumber.
- Fully drain the tank
- Disconnect water, gas, and electrical connections
- Move it to an accessible spot if possible
- Let us know the tank size
How removal works
Once it's drained and disconnected, we carry the tank out and load it up. These units are heavy, so let us know about stairs or tight closets ahead of time.
